Art Deco rosewood cabinet with intricately inlaid gazelles, deer and elk along with other architectural elements by Tomaso Buzzi. Cabinet has two doors revealing a rod and shelf. Per the consignor, this piece was purchased in an estate sale of an apartment in Copacabana, Brazil in 2001. The apartment contained Gio Ponti and Piero Fornasetti designs. Due to the import/export laws in Brazil at the time, items exported from Brazil were stamped "Made In Brazil." Similar pieces were featured in a Gio Ponti sale at Sotheby's, Milan about twenty years ago. These pieces were credited to Gio Ponti in this sale, but it was later discovered that about half of these were documented as Tomaso Buzzi.
